Chrome plated steel bars are chromium-plated steel products that can be supplied as piston rods in standard hydraulic and pneumatic applications. The chrome plated steel bar is normally used in conditions of high stress, friction and harsh climactic environments, so the quality of the base metal and subsequent surface treatment are of paramount importance. Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, surface smoothness, high yield strength and uniform quality are essential properties of hard chrome bar.

Hard Chrome bars are generally produced from steel bars combining high strength with excellent machinability and weldability. Common applications are found in agricultural machinery, production equipment, cranes, garbage compactors, lifters etc.

Steel Grade according to different standards

Induction hardening: it is a form of heat treatment in which a metal part is heated by induction heating and then quenched. The quenched metal undergoes a martensitic transformation, increasing the hardness and brittleness of the part. Induction hardening is used to selectively harden areas of a part or assembly without affecting the properties of the part as a whole. The hardening depth is 1.5-5mm; medium/low-frequency quenching may lead to excessive depth and negative effect on strength; high-frequency quenching generally result in a shallow depth, and may ensure the balance of hardness and strength.

Quenching and high-temperature tempering: Generally, the heat treatment method combined of quenching and high-temperature tempering is called thermal refining, which is widely applied to various important structural parts, especially the connecting rods, bolts, gears and shafts working under alternating load. The tempered sorbite has better mechanical property than normalized sorbite of the same hardness. Its hardness depends on tempering temperature and relates to stability of tempering and sectional dimension of workpiece, and is generally HB200-350.

Induction hardened with Q&T: After induction hardening with Q&T, the piston rods could not only obtain greater mechanical properties, but also achieve a greater resistance to damage from external impact.

At present, our main products focus on welding parts, machined parts, industrial pressure platens, guide rods /column/pillar, press roller, calender roller and other machine body with accessories, for the large welded structural parts can be made to a single weight of 15 tons, the thickness of the heating platen and insulation board can be made a tolerance of ±0.1mm from 20mm to 200mm, the rod column can achieve Max. Φ300mm with length in 6 meter, surface with chromed coating by thickness up to 0.07mm.
